New Health Centre

Home

From time to time Dr Masharani will update this page with a progress report about the health centre build. Click on the thumbnail images if you want to view them.

23rd January 2007

The new car park is now open. Patients are advised to drive past the new medical centre and past  the hospital and turn right into the car park. There is a walkway  between the car park and entrance to the medical centre.

12th January 2007

The new car park should be ready by the end of next week. This will leave the front of the surgery free for the disabled and those too ill to walk the distance from new car park.

Meanwhile here are a few new photos of the new medical centre. Click on the thumbnails to see a bigger image.

17th November 2006

3 weeks in and normal services are more or less resumed. The new car park will not be ready for another 4 weeks. There is plenty of congestion at the few places at the front of the building so patients are advised avoiding trying to get in there at this time

19th October 2006

The move to the new medical centre is complete in readiness of "normal" services commencing Monday 23rd October

5th October 2006

The developers are making steady progress so that we should still be moving over 3 days from Wednesday 18th October to Friday 20th October. On these three days there will be only an emergency medical cover available ( see stop press and home pages)

September 2006

A  couple of interior shots ( click on the thumbnails to expand on them) of the waiting room gives an illustration on how things are progressing. Carpets are being fitted and electrical equipment is being installed. If you want to contribute to purchasing equipment, toys etc for the new health centre  then click here

August 2006

On a recent tour of the new health centre, practice staff were able to see the rooms that they are soon to occupy. Even the paint and carpet colours have been chosen. We are  on schedule to open on 16th October.

July 2006

The health centre build is progressing on schedule. Most of the staff have donned their hard hats and taken a tour. On the last visit it was noted that the wriring was partially completed and in some places plaster boards had been fixed to the walls

May 2006

Things are going really well now with the health centre build. The developers are forecasting that we shall be able to move on 16th October.

Welcome to my new consulting room...

Well okay it is a little muddy still but you have to admit that there have been some definite signs of movement in the build program. There are more photos on the "new build" page of this site.

Jauuary 2006...At last there is some semblance of activity on the Health Centre Site. The opening date may be later than September though...

November 2005...The fire station is now up an running allowing the developer to knock down the old ambulance station and fire station complex and clear the site in preparation for starting work on the new health centre.

August 2005... The roof goes onto the new fire station. Developers are on course to get the fire station finished at the end of September. The deadline for completion of the health centre is still September 2006.

May 2005...After a long wait something has started happening of the site. The first stage is the construction of the new fire station. Once this has been built, the old one together with the ambulance station will be knocked down to clear the way to starting work on the health centre.

New fire station build May 25th 2005

Feb 2005...Members of the South Leicestershire PCT, developers, doctors  and representatives of the fire service attended the ground breaking ceremony to mark the start of the health centre on 1st February 2005.
