Home visits
We try to restrict home visits to people who are too ill to
come to the surgery because we can see three or four people at the health centre
in the same time it takes to do one home visit. In addition it is possible to do
special tests and liaise with other staff such as nurses when patients are seen
at the surgery.
Should you need a home visit please telephone before 11:00
am on the usual number and talk to the receptionist.
After 6 pm and at weekends emergency calls are shared with
other doctors so you may not see your usual doctor. If you feel unwell it is
always wise to contact the surgery before closing time as we are more
likely to be familiar with your past health record than the emergency doctor.
Out of hours
From 1st December 2004 the out of hours calls will be managed by
South Leicestershire PCT. The new emergency call number is:
0845 045 0411
If you telephone the usual surgery number your call will be
automatically diverted to the new emergency call centre. Depending on the nature
of your medical problem you will either be given advice or asked to attend and
emergency centre or a home visit will be arranged. In life threatening
situations an ambulance will be dispatched to attend to you
If you just want telephone advice NHS Direct provides an 24
