Patients Group

Home

Welcome to the Patient Participation Group (PPG) web page . This is a new venture for the practice having begun in February 2008

The role of a PPG is involved in 6 main areas of work

bulletProviding feedback from patients to the Practice e.g. about appointment systems and opening hours
bulletHealth Promotion e.g. stroke prevention, healthy eating
bulletVolunatry Activities e.g. setting up support groups
bulletFundraising e.g. purchasing of equipment for the practice
bulletProviding Information e.g. leaflets, news letters and volunteer services
bulletRepresentation - influencing local provision of health and social care

The work is carried out by a group of patients and practice staff who meet at regular interval to decide ways of making a positive contribution to the services and facilities offered by the practice to the patients.

For a PPG to be successful it is useful that it has representation from as diverse a group of patients as possible. For example we would love to see mothers who have young children and those with physical and mental health problems.

We meet every 2 to 3 months early in the evening. The meetings are very informal and last about 1 - 2 hours.

If you would like to get involved in shaping local health care, contact Sue the practice manager, for more information.
