Yellow fever vaccination—
Unfortunately the practice has had to stop offering this
service from 1st December 2005. The nearest Yellow fever vaccination centre is
the Countesthorpe health centre: telephone: (0116) 2776336Note that some countries require you to have a yellow fever vaccination because you
might catch in in that country whereas others will require it if you have
previously been to a country where you might have caught the disease.
HGV/ sports/ taxi and insurance medicals—
These are carried out outside the usual surgery hours for a fee. The
receptionist will be able to make an appointment for this service. At present
the cost of this service in £80.00
Insurance forms/ passport applications and private letters—
Unfortunately, these too are not covered by the NHS and a charge will be made
for the service which is payable on collection of the completed form. A similar
charge is made if you ask us to write to the council or housing department. The
present cost is £20-00
Certificates for school - A
charge of £7-50 will be made for short letters for school children. Longer
reports will cost more.
First attendance after a car accident -
a charge of £35 will be made for a first consultation after a car
accident. A receipt will be issued for you to claim the money back from your car
insurance company. Note if you go to an accident and emergency department - they
will also make a charge.
Private sick notes - Only one DSS note is provided if you are
off sick for more than 7 days. If you require a note to cover a lesser period
your employer should take a self certificate. If you still want a sick note then
a private one will be issued for a cost of £7:50.Click here for further details

Visitors outside of EU -
Visitors from the European Union will be seen free of charge. Those from outside
of the EU will be charged unless a reciprocal agreement is in place. The usual
fee is £35-00 for a 10 minute consultation ( and proportionately more for a
longer consultation) and £50 for a home visit. Private prescriptions will be
issued at a cost of £10 per item. The chemist will make a further charge to
dispense the medication. You will be told of costs of any tests if they are
necessary.
